Celebrate Worldwide Knit in Public Day!

We'll be celebrating all day! You can't go wrong starting out with mimosas, so that's just what we'll be doing at 10am! At 10:30 we'll get a chance to see and touch the newest pieces from the Shibui spring and summer trunk show, and you'll be getting your Shubui pattern for FREE when you purchase the yarn to make one of the garments from the show! Stick around as we chat with our wonderful Shibui rep and learn more about Shibui's "Mix" concept - we'll have yarns to sample/swatch with so you can experience it for yourself!

From 1-4, we're taking our knitting public! That's right! What would Worldwide Knit in Public Day be without some public knitting?! Bring a lawn chair, your smile, and a project to work on, and we'll bring the lemonade and cookies! We'll Knit in Public at The Downtown Plaza.

We'd also LOVE to showcase YOUR creations, so please wear something you've knitted or bring it with you for show and tell. Your handmade items must be to the shop by 1pm to be eligible for prizes - and oh, yes - did I mention prizes?!  Because we have a few, just for Y-O-U! We'll set up a Customer Trunk Show at the shop, with voting from 2-4 and the winners announced at 4:30! There's a category for everyone: Sweater, Scarf, Hat, Gloves, Blanket, Socks, and Shawl. Bring us your best and you just might WIN!

We are SO excited to have you come stay with us for the day, but we have to give you a little heads up. We do not have a public restroom at Serendipity - we wish we did! But, we are fortunate that there are restrooms at the Tuscaloosa Public Library at the foot of Queen City Avenue, and also at the Shell station about ¼ mile from the shop. Sorry for any inconvenience!
